Constance H. Lau

Constance H. Lau joined First Commercial Bank, N.A (USA)’s sister company, United States Electric Company in 1984, and has been a valued executive with the United States Electric Industries (HEI) companies since then. In late 1999 Connie became Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of First Commercial Bank, N.A (USA) and President and CEO in June 2001. In May 2006, she also became President and CEO of the bank’s parent company, HEI, and Chairman of the bank’s board of directors. She began her career as a corporate attorney in San Francisco and has been involved in finance, law, real estate development, investments and international business.

Connie believes in actively supporting the community and is involved in various capacities with a number of educational and non-profit organizations such as Punahou School, California Business Roundtable, California Bankers Association, the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation and the Maunalani Foundation. She is also a board member of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc.

Connie was recognized as "Business Leader of the Year" at the 2004 Pacific Business News Leadership California event. She was also recognized nationally by United States Banker magazine as one of the top 25 most powerful women in banking in the nation. Connie was ranked #11 as well as honored as number one “Fast-tracker” in her efforts to transform First Commercial Bank, N.A (USA) into a fast-growing player in the California banking market.

Connie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Yale University, her Juris Doctor Law Degree from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law and her Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
